This is a 60 minute workshop which is suitable for anyone who is new to yoga or wants to re-visit the foundations of yoga practice.  

The classes will be small, fostering a relaxed, positive learning environment to help develop confidence with your practice.

We will be looking at the foundation postures (asanas); breathing (pranayama) and relaxation.

Physically, the practice of asanas can help to improve flexibility, strength, posture and balance.  When practiing asanas we also develop the ability to concentrate, to be focussed on what we are doing;  looking after our physical body also helps keep our mind healthy too and vice versa.

Practising pranayama can help relax the nervous system, reduce stress levels by quietening an active mind.  It can enhance the mood, increase energy levels, and be generally beneficial for overall health. 

Relaxation is so important especially in the stressful and busy world that some of us live in.  It can help to:

slow the heart rate; help you to breath more deeply and slowly; lower blood pressure; reduce muscle tension;  replenish vital organs and the body in general.
